Paul’s aim is to deliver personalised, state‐of‐the‐art therapies and holistic care to cancer patients and their family, incorporating the latest international clinical research and innovations in cancer care delivery.

Training

His initial Medical Oncology training was undertaken in Sydney at Royal Prince Alfred and Royal North Shore hospitals before moving to the Royal Marsden, London initially as Gynaecologic Oncology Research Fellow then as Breast Cancer Research Fellow. At the same time Paul undertook an M.D. in Breast Cancer and cell death biology in the laboratory of Prof. Mitch Dowsett at the Institute of Cancer Research. Afterwards he continued as senior registrar at the Royal Marsden, gaining his UK qualifications before being appointed a consultant to Guys, Kings and St Thomas NHS Trusts from 1999 to 2002. Paul conducted rooms at the London Bridge and Harley St Oncology Clinics. In 2002, Paul returned to Australia as Director of Medical Oncology Mater Adult Hospital. He has been responsible for a solid tumour oncology research program that collaborates with basic laboratory researchers utilising the latest genetic and pharmacology technologies applied to phase I (first in man) new cancer drug development. He has published results of a breast cancer phase II clinical trial undertaken in Brisbane as well as also participated and published national and international studies randomised (phase III) and post-marketing (phase IV) trials sponsored by co‐operative group as well as the pharmaceutical industry.
