Medical Oncologist

Dr Slancar commenced his specialist training in Medical Oncology in Europe, under the auspices of European School of Oncology. He completed his training in Sydney, Australia.

He held a previous appointment at the Oncology Department of The Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney until he moved to Queensland in 1998 and established Gold Coast Oncology, a comprehensive cancer care practice located in Southport. He also became a director of Pacific Private Oncology, a chemotherapy clinic located in Southport.

He has an expertise in general oncology of solid tumours, with major interest being in the field of Breast and Gynaecological cancers, Colorectal cancer, Lung cancer and Lymphomas.

His practice also offers the co-ordinating role for the management of any malignancy at any stage of the disease. This support reaches from the initial diagnosis to the palliative care phase.

Dr Slancar has a keen interest in clinical trials and is an internationally recognised Principal Investigator. He continues to participate on a number of International studies in the treatment of solid tumours.  At any time, he has a number of clinical studies available for treatment of major malignancies.

Dr Slancar merged his practice with HOCA in 2008 and helped to establish the new HOCA Gold Coast Cancer Centre at Southport.
